FINAL REFLECTION

For the final refelction i would like to answer all this questions. 1. What they like about blogging. 2. What they do not like about blogging. 3. What have they gained from blogging eg. Language skills, improved fluency, critical thinking, improved thought processes, technology skills etc. 4. How? 5. what they like about the course 6. what they do not like about the course 7. what they have learnt from the course 8. what they do not expect but have learnt from the course 9. what they expect but have not learnt from the course. 

Firstly, I like blogging because it like your screen of mind and thought that you like others to notice and know. So, it helps you to express yourself to admit your existance in this world. Moreover, it improve my writing skills and give more practices using technology. However, this blogging sometimes too tome consuming and for us time as a student is very hectic, so we should rearrange back my schedule and time management.

To sum up, let us admit that we have learn a lot for this course which can be clearly seen in our portfolio. So, i think what we doesn't learn but I was eager to learn how to develop and using resources besides technology stuff, because i believe there should be a balance between technology and non-technology as resources to ensure teacher to be more creative and not too dependant on technology.

Exam MODE

Exam is today. I believe that everyone is tested on what they have learned for this exam. The exam was held in the Computer Lab. We were given two hours to answer all four essay questions which each of them carries 10 marks. The first question is as I expected regarding the first week notes. It nothing much that i can say about the test but i really feel thankful to god that i can answer them all which means that what i have learned in this class was benificial to me as i can recall all of them and put them during the exam. So, i feel happy that this course finally finish but i really miss the challenges we have here in exploring so-called technology. 

20/10/2008 REFLECTION

Children's SoftwareThis week was our assignment 3 submition. The feeling of relaxation can't be explain through words. Today we were introduced with children's software. So, during this hour. we did play educational games and manipulate some softwares which were designed forv children. However, what we learn today, we have to be selective in choosing the software by taking into consideration the OS (operation system that support the software). Moreover, this software are accessible from an internet. This gives an oppurtunity for a teacher to explore them and think which one is appropriate to bring to the class.

This week just a hari raye week in my hometown. Personally, having this blog provide me a room to share something that we may celebrate together. So, i'm using this oppurtunity and time to say selamat Hari raye and maaf zahir dan Batin. i believe all my freinds and lecturers are enjoying themselves by visting relatives and friends. For this week, we were given a task to search for a research paper or article about the use of technology in teaching and learnig English  from the internet. Then, we had to send the link of the article to Pn Foziah in ADEC and she would have a look at it and reply if the article was acceptable. I have read and discovered a lot of article that seem really intersting as they suggest a lot of ways to exploit technology for teaching and learning purposes. I really shocked that in western this has become a common among teacher and i believe Malaysia also should achieve that kind of awareness about technology especially in education field as It promote knowledge as a ways of life.

Today,we learned and explored Microsoft Publisher. We were given a task that we have to do in pairs and create a business card, pamplet, poster, newsletter. This experiences was very challengging to me because this is my first time using MS publisher.But, what really benefit me the knowlegde how to create those things and now I realise that how easier to create pamplet and namecard. I even can become a designer of a namecard as freelancer if I want to..hihi. Thank for this course providing us the oppurtunity to learn and explore this software. It really benificial to me and I believe to all my friend to.

This class is the last class before Raya. We still in presentation mode. Today we have new asignment to find an article and evaluate the article to the criterion provided by lecturers. This task is actually similar to our math task and we also have learn how to find a good article in our info skills. So I believe this task have support from my previous lesson and the product will accurate as ever. Return to presentation, we have an input about how to find and select authentic material. Moreover how students can benefit from authentic material more than non-authentic material. Lastly, we realised that learning isd a process, although we in the corner of hari raya, learning must not forgotten because we as teacher have to realise the fact. Assignment 3 is coming! I wasn't realize that this semester are going to an end. Today is a session of explanation about assignmnt 3. We are given specific year and topic. My topic is about the 'sea world' . And our task is to produce teaching aid and rationale. This task should be discuss in group. This task put ourselves in the shoes of a real teacher. So, it really testing our capacity of knowlegde and skills that we have developed in 3 years in teacher training centre. So, let wait for the result! ...Yup...lets do it!

09/09/08 REFLECTION

Presentation time! Today is a revealation of what we have discuss for last week. We learn a lot today about the variety of teaching resources, negative and positive aspects of a those materials. Totally, we feel so great to know about those informative and benificial presentations which they can prepare us as a teacher who equipped with the knowlegde to produce an effective teaching material. I imagine myself as a teacher with our material cope with the students' interest, time constraint and the setting. We realize, to make aa good jugment on how to develop teaching resources, we should take a lot of consideration. So, preparation and proper planning will reflect us as a dedicate and good teacher.

02/09/08 REFLECTION

Today's class we are required to discuss about a topic "Integrating language work and other subjects". This discussion appears interesting and important knowledge for us as a teacher to explore how to use language for another subjects. This statement is valid as processes used for another subjects are similar for language learnig. Those processess are diagrammatic representation , repeated pattern, understanding through seeing and responding by doing. I am looking forward to present this stuff to inform my colleagues the similarity and difference. Moreover, language to be taught in other subjects is possible as language is the medium to deliver message and it also sustain their vocabulary through concrete evidence which can be taught in other subjects such as science and math.

To sum up, integrating language to be taught in other subjects will improve the proficiency of the students. Thus, teacher should plan some strategies to implement an effective integrative language lesson.

26/08/08 REFLECTION

Get up afiq! I talk to myself as the 'holiday blues' try to conquer me. Back to today lesson, "keluarga saya" is very educational and interactive presentation. Analysing those presentations, I identify a lot to set as my requirements to produce an effective education presentation. Firstly, the font shouldn't be in capital letter as it can cause confusion among children to write in proper way. Another requirement, how we should integrating our audio editing, video editing and what we have learned in this class. The strategies that should be used as to target young learner as our audience and how they can maximise their response towards the presentation. To sum up, let us admit that today's lesson are testing of our understanding and challenge our "teacher techno" to be applied in classroom context. Let's start framing our ideas!!!

12/08/08 REFLECTION

Today, I learn about video editing. Fortunately, I have done the task earlier for my technology class. Thank god! It makes my life easier this time, hehehehe. To construct a storyboard is just the beginningto picture what my video will be look like. So, to suit the requirement, we select a topic of "memory lane". Here, a lot of memories can be arised and shown along the way of becoming undergradute. To make it more interesting, we plan to instill some musics of friendship and brotherhood theme. I am sure, my lecturer is looking forward to see my video. hihihi This might sound ridiculous but guys just wait and see. The story begin........................

"Audio editing!" This is a new term for me...I'm not a musican, composer, or anything related to the of "music". So, god help me, guide me, and give ease of way to go through with this. My frist impression was disaster but I never lose hope,because I am human who learn and learn until the last breath.Ewah! So, I analyse what the audio editing all about, I discover a new think. As a mathematician brain I identify a pattern for music arrrangement and the logic can be appplied. So I tried it out and it produce something nice to listen. I stick to this strategy to complete my task. Thank god, my lecturer, my friend to be such a good guidance in my life. Tq again.

29/07/08 REFLECTION

How to edit a picture? Thanx to Puan Foziah to guide me the basic and advance tips in photo editing. I have try it out and it quit amazing to know you can do so much thing with your picture. I can create some smoke effect and blurr some part that I want. So, our task to edit a picture and provide a tutorial how we done it. Our final product is to upload our edited picture to a web provided.

Moreover, we are asked to develop an e-book in group. This is really exciting as my first time doing an e-book. We can include some animation or and interesting picture. I have a vision the education world without a book, chalk and board. Teacher and student will engage fully using technology and share their ideas and creative expression in more virtual ways. Just imagine we can edit a picture and imagine youcan put yourself in a image of your dream. For example, you as a superman or you can picture as a beautiful artist. How amusing!

This just a beginning, I believe that's a lot more we can do with technolgy. It up to us to explore and experiment. K have a nice day :-)

Photo editing!!! Wow, after I explore that software to edit a picture. I realise there are so much thing I can do with pictures. I can easily express my creativity and ideas through an edited picture. Now, I can share my photo in more unique ways and will left a good impression to the viewer. So , I agree that picture can represent a thousand word...I love photo editing...HEHEHE

15/07/08 REFLECTION

Today, I learned something important how to construct a group. Personally, grouping have to consider all the members to agree upon. The first thing I see the defect I have can be fulfill by the strengh of other members. For example, I am not used to some software such as photoshop and sound editing, so my friend who has the knowlegde can guide and teach me.

Honestly, I am more happy to work in group because it teach me a lot of cooperation,and how to take decision of all in order to submit all the tasks given and I'm ready to give my 100 percent contribution to my group for the best of all.
